Inhalt der Lehrveranstaltung

Who defines “development” in which way? Is the notion of “development” still meaningful or just a chimera of an outdated development system? The starting point of seminar are the current policy objectives of the international development organisations (millenium development goals and sustainable development goals), overall concepts such as „good governance“, and development programs and visions of selected countries. We will discuss these notions of development in the perspective of the radical development critic like post-development and anti-globalization and local a understanding and/or critic of development (“voices of the poor”).
